Dian Lynn (Dusek Gambon) Lake

October 27, 1946 — September 2, 2021

Dian Lynn Lake (nee Dusek/Gambon), born in Chicago, IL on October 27, 1946, passed away on September 2, 2021, surrounded by love and her family. Known as Di, Mom, and Nana, she joined the love of her life, Lyle L. Lake, Sr. in Heaven.

A woman of strong faith, Dian graduated Oak Lawn Community High School in 1964 and married Lyle on April 3, 1965. Together they built a life full of love and laughter, having five children and fourteen grandchildren. Dian dedicated her life to her family and church, creating cherished memories for everyone who was blessed to know her.

Dian was preceded in death by her husband Lyle, parents Fances Mee (nee Meyer) and William Gambon, and followed closely in death by her twin sister Susan Bomberry.  She is survived by her five children, Laura (Steve) Olewinski, Lyle Jr. (Michelle), Lewis (Donna), Lynette (Serena), and Leon (Diane), fourteen grandchildren, Lyle III, Alexandra, Sydney, Maxwell, Amber, Logan, Margaret, Cooper, and Jessica Lake; Larissa, Mitchell, and Cassandra Olewinski; James and Jennifer Zimney; loving sister Ellen Edwards and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Dian’s life will take place on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM followed by the service at 11:00 AM at Salem United Church of Christ, 9717 S. Kostner Ave, Oak Lawn, IL 60453. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations/expressions of sympathy be made to Salem United Church of Christ.
