Rose (Gulino) Prince

Rose Prince (nee Gulino), age 91, born into eternal life on Thursday, August 17, 2023.

Rose is preceded in death by her husband, Ewell Dean Prince (2014); parents, Samuel and Marie Gulino; grandson, Russell Dean Prince Jr.; brothers, Michael (Isabel) Gulino Sr. and Leonard (Catherine) Gulino; sisters, Marianne (Earl) Riemer and Margaret (Salvatore) Plaia.

Survived by her son, Russell D. (the late Joan) Prince; daughter, Victoria (Ray) Menard; grandchildren, Julie (Troy) Rosa, Raymond A. (Gianna) Menard and Melanie (Andy) Kuecker; great-grandchildren, Joseph, Victoria, Katerina, and Christian Rosa, Lorelai, Olive, and Jensen Kuecker; sister, Catherine (Daniel) Wrzek; brother, Samuel (Elizabeth) Gulino; many nieces and nephews.

Rose would always say “I had a good life,” and to us, this simple statement brings great comfort. She lived out her life putting others first, especially her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her open-door policy always made family and friends feel welcome and at home. She enjoyed cooking and baking, it was certain that if you came to visit, you never left hungry.

Rose was known to always keep busy. She enjoyed ironing, cleaning, playing cards with family, trips to the casino (Las Vegas was her favorite destination), game shows, lifetime series, and settling down to watch a good cowboy or mafia movie. She was a fun, passionate woman who exemplified her love by always being present to her family. Rose will be truly missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of Rose’s life will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023, with a memorial visitation at Waters Edge Church, 203 School Road, Shorewood, IL 60404 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service beginning at 12:00 p.m. A luncheon will follow services at Heros West, 1530 Commerce Lane, Joliet, IL 60431.
