Ronald E. Weiland

Ronald E. Weiland, age 93, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at Lightways Hospice in Joliet, Il. He was born June 02, 1932, in Chicago, a son of the late Theodore and Laverne Weiland.

Ron served his country in the United States Army for 2 years during the Korean War. He lived in Chicago, Illinois until he and his wife moved to Orland Park, Illinois in 1960 where he raised his 2 children until his wife died in 2013. He then moved to Joliet, Il with his daughter and son-in-law.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa and son, Ronald Jr. Ron had one brother, Bob; and 4 sisters, Barbara, Marilyn, Sandy and Audrey.

Ron is survived by his daughter, Debra (Mitchell); grandson, Robert; granddaughter, Jennifer; and five great-grandchildren, Daniel, Dylan, Brianna, Brooklynn and Christian.

Ron had a love for woodworking, carving, drawing, painting and gardening. He was a passionate Disney enthusiast and collector.

There will be no immediate service. The family is planning a Celebration of Life in spring where his ashes will be placed in a Columbarium niche next to his late wife and son at Resurrection Cemetery in Summit Illinois. He will be forever in our hearts.
