Richard A. Tucek

Richard A. Tucek, age 67, born April 23, 1959 in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2026.

Richard was a proud United States Navy Veteran, having served from 1980 to 1984. He was a highly intelligent mechanical engineer who had a brilliant mind and a gift for fixing anything.

Outside of work, Richard loved spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. He also had a passion for shooting his guns and for his motorcycles, especially his Harley-Davidson. Those who knew Richard will remember his quick wit and his love of making people laugh. He was a devoted husband, proud father, and wonderful grandfather who treasured his family dearly.

Richard had a playful, competitive spirit, especially when it came to playing games with his granddaughter. He loved the challenge of trying to win, but even more, he treasured the laughter and special moments they shared together.

40 years later and dad was still crazy about mom, still flirting, still staring and still acting like he won the wife lottery!

Forever known as his sons #1 fan (and quite possibly the ref’s biggest headache). He cheered the loudest, argued the calls and came dangerously close to getting thrown out more than once. He may have been a little too passionate, but nobody loved his son harder or cheered him on more. He will be missed dearly…… by us and probably a few referees too!

Richard may have been their stepdad, but he earned his place as Dad, along with the right to embarrass them, for the rest of their lives. Underneath all the jokes, opinions and dad antics was a man who loved his daughters fiercely and was unbelievably proud of the women they became. Knowing him, he is probably still bragging about them wherever he is.

Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Laurie Tucek; his son, Josh Tucek; his daughters, Angela Dean and Amber Dean; his granddaughter, Kaitlyn Dean; and his sister, Teri Price.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Tucek; his mother, Catherine Tucek; and his father-in-law, Eugene Friscia.

Richard will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness, mechanical ingenuity, sense of humor, and love for his family will remain a lasting part of the memories he leaves behind.

Richard will be laid to rest privately at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
