Raymond Harold Benson

Raymond H. Benson, age 86, of Elwood, IL passed away on Monday, February 27, 2023.

Ray "Tootsie" was a devoted husband to Renee and loving father to Debbie (Butch) Cargle and Kim (Rick) Sloan; grandfather to Kristin (Derek) Sloan and Kyle Sloan; great-grandfather of Lukas, Liam and Jaedyn.

Ray was a proud Veteran of the Untied States Air Force and served in the military for 4 years.

He loved to vacation from the Red Woods to Biloxi. He loved animals, especially his best friend Rusty, who never left his side. Ray had a kind soul and sense of humor that was appreciated by everyone who knew him.

A celebration of Ray's life with full military honors will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL at 2:30 p.m. A luncheon will be held immediately afterwards at his home 823 Cobblestone Lane, Elwood, IL.
