Gerald L. Silakowski

Gerald L. Silakowski, age 76, passed away on Friday, October 1, 2021.

Gerald is survived by his loving children, Tim (Teri) Silakowski, Leonard Knorr, Ruth (Mark) Thomas and Suzanne (Matthew) Isabelli; grandchildren, Tara (Chris) Turillo, J.T. (Frankie) Silakowski, Sarah (Dennis) Rybicki, Brandie Knorr, Jarid Knorr, Stephanie Thomas and Billy (Lisa) Thomas; twelve great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his wife, Edith J. Silakowski; parents, Leo and Angela (Stukel) Silakowski; brothers, Ronald (Penny) Silakowski, Carl (Sue) Silakowski and Robert Silakowski; and one sister, Loretta Bokowski.

Gerald retired from the Laborers Union Local #75 in which he was a proud member of for 54 years. He loved spending time with his family and always put a smile on everyone’s face. Gerald was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He will be truly missed by all the knew him.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to the staff and residents at American House Cedar Lake in Plainfield for their care and friendship.

Per Gerald’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded.
