Gary Michael McHugh, a dedicated member of the Local #11 Roofers Union, has passed away at the age of 73. Born September 27, 1950, Gary led a fulfilling life filled with hard work and cherished hobbies.
Gary retired from the Local #11 Roofers Union after many years of service, leaving behind a legacy of commitment and professionalism in his work. Outside of his career, he found joy as a member of the Picadilly Ski Club, where he shared his passion for skiing with like-minded individuals. Gary was also an avid musician who loved to play the guitar.
In his family life, Gary was a beloved father and grandfather. He is survived by his sons, Michael (Heidi) McHugh and Joseph (Crystal) McHugh, who will always carry on his memory with love and pride. His grandchildren, Ian and Ella McHugh as well as Gavin and Gage McHugh, will forever hold dear the memories shared with their grandfather. Also surviving is his former wife, Jill Elise Corbett.
Among those mourning Gary's loss are his sisters Cheryl Oboikovitz and Karen Hollendoner, who will continue to cherish the memories they shared with their dear brother.
Gary was preceded in death by his father, James J. McHugh Sr., mother, Muriel McHugh, and brothers James J. McHugh Jr. and Daniel McHugh. He is now reunited with them in peace.
Gary Michael McHugh will be remembered for his dedication to his work, love for skiing, and most importantly, his devotion to his family. May he rest in peace knowing he was cherished by many and that his legacy lives on through those who loved him.
A celebration of Gary's life will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024. The family invites relatives and friends to gather at The Cathedral of St. Raymond for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 11:30 a.m. Per Gary's wishes cremation rites have been accorded.
