Donald W. Johnson

Donald W. Johnson, age 79, a resident of Crest Hill, Illinois since 2002 and formerly of Chicago Heights. Don passed away at his home on July 9, 2026.

Don was born on April 23, 1947 in Galesburg, Illinois. He was the beloved husband of the late Sarah E. Johnson, whom he married on May 6, 1967. He is survived by his four children: Emily (Andy) Van Houtte of Hinsdale, IL, Amy (Butch) LeFebvre of Plainfield, IL, Erick (Kerry) Johnson of Snohomish, WA and Andrew (Tiffany) Johnson of Essex, IL; as well as his grandchildren Madeleine, Grace, Chloe, Cassidy, Hayden (Johnny), Danielle (Nick), Katie (John), Lauren, Jack (Bella), Luke, Madison (Joey), Olivia, Jaxon, Judah and great-grandchildren Georgie, Vivian, Brady, Cole and Iris. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Edna Johnson, his sister Karen, and grandchild Tinley E. Johnson.

Don grew up in Galesburg, IL and graduated from Galesburg Senior High School, Class of 1965. He attended Western Illinois University and dedicated 35 years as a teacher at Parker Junior High in Flossmoor, IL. In retirement, he enjoyed being active in the Carillon Lakes community, especially golfing and playing euchre.
