Dawn M. Winterfeldt

Dawn Marie Winterfeldt (Hills) of Aroma Park, Il passed away on August 17, 2024 at what she would want you to say, 29 years old! She is survived by her loving husband David Winterfeldt. They shared more than 30 years with each other and were best friends. Dawn is survived by her mother Penny Hills, her brother Dan Hills (Beth), her sister Michelle Hall (Tim), and her sister Kristy Strilko (Haitham Ibrahim). Dawn also has nieces and nephews that were truly the loves of her life and she was a true mother to many of them. Dawn is preceded in death by her father Dan Hills and we all know they are together causing trouble whenever they go again. 

Dawn worked at Oakview School in New Lenox and the students she worked with had a very special place in her heart and life. She needed them as much as they needed her. 

Dawn will continue to live on in all of the special memories we have of her, every time someone uses a “Dawnism” phrase, the sound of her personality coming from one of her nieces or nephews, and especially through the people she saved and are thriving today as a result of Gift of Hope with her organ and tissue donation. 

 A celebration of Dawn's life will be held on Sunday, September 8th at the New Lenox VFW at 323 Old Hickory Rd from 2:00 PM-5:00 PM. The family invites everyone that has been touched by Dawn to join them in remembering her. Together everyone will support the other in the true way Dawn would have wanted. Per Dawn's wishes cremation rites have been accorded.
