Charles "Chuck" Lynden Sibley

Charles "Chuck" Lynden Sibley,73,a loyal member of VFW Post 5819, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2024. He was known for his charismatic personality, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Chuck started his over-the-road truck driving experience in the mid-'90s, traversing the highways and byways of the United States. Through his journeys, he witnessed the breathtaking beauty of diverse landscapes, and he shared numerous stories about the awe-inspiring sights he encountered along the way. He retired as a member of the Chicago Truck Drivers Union from KA Steel in Lemont, Illinois.
A passionate golfer, Chuck found laughter on the green, where he cultivated lifelong friendships and created countless memories. His love for the outdoors extended beyond the golf course, as he regaled friends and family with captivating tales of duck hunting and fishing adventures. Chuck was no stranger to the kitchen, where he delighted in crafting unique and delectable recipes that he generously shared with others. An avid reader with an insatiable thirst for knowledge, immersing himself in books of all genres, his passion for learning rivaled his enthusiasm for sharing the myriad of fascinating facts he acquired. Chuck also found immense joy in his hobby as a model enthusiast, spending countless hours meticulously crafting intricate replicas and sharing his passion with others. Notably, the helicopter model proudly displayed at VFW Post 5819 was a testament to Chuck's craftsmanship.

He is preceded in death by his parents Ronald and Mavis, and his grandson Johnathon. 

Chuck is survived by his twin sisters: Mary and Martha; his children: Craig and his wife Tammi, Tricia, Derrick and his wife Mallory, and Paige, his granddaughter Emalee and his great-grandsons AJ and Benny.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of meeting him. Chuck leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and fun-loving times.

May he rest in peace, surrounded by the warmth of the memories he created and the love of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Per Chuck’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded and no services will be held.
