Carla J. Armstrong

Carla J. Armstrong (née Porter), age 59, passed away at Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness Care in Joliet, IL on Tuesday, July 29th, 2025.

Carla is survived by her loving husband Roger Armstrong; son Jason Cooper; stepdaughter Randi (Justin) Pecka; sister Paula (Mike) Nichols; brother-in-law Glen (Juanita) Armstrong; sister-in-law Debbie (Mark) Orr; grandchildren Warner and Cash Pecka; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Donald and Barbara (née Vreeland) Porter and sister Sheila Miech.

Carla was born and raised in Plano and was a graduate of Plano High School. She held jobs as a secretary and dog groomer. She had a deep love for all animals, especially her devoted Murphy. She cared for every creature with kindness, always offering a warm heart and helping hand to those in need. She enjoyed horses, playing online games with her friends, gardening, playing cards, and watching or attending Nascar races.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to her best friend and sister by love Charlene Hildebrand, and her adored nephew Jeremy (Annie) Miech for their exceptional care and support during Carla’s final days.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness Care, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, IL 60431 in Carla's name would be appreciated.

In accordance with her wishes, Carla was cremated, and a private memorial will be held by the family at a later date.
